My First Scrappy Quilt

Hi Everyone!

Here is a little something that I have been working on all week. My first ever quilt. It's rough for sure, a lot of room for improvement. But it's for a one year old and it is soft and warm. And I had fun making it.

This was made from denim squares cut from old jeans, yellow squares cut from scrap fabric and those white squares are supposed to be pooh bear images that were printed onto printer fabric. Don't bother with this type of stuff, its not washable. The ink washed out. Bummer. The backing is made from an old cotton sheet.

Another elastic skirt waist fabric cuff. I used some of the skirt to make this flower and a button from an old dress in this flower. To make this flower I cut a strip of fabric from the skirt, folded the strip in half, keeping it long, and stitched the bottom closed while turning the edges in so that they weren't raw. I used a running stitch and gathered the fabric as I went along. Then I attached the strip, gathering and turning the fabric until my flower was just right and sewed it onto the cuff.

Time for me to go play with my new toy! Yippee!!!!
