Hi Everyone!
Here is my first finished project from yesterday's
sneaky peeks. This one was fun to do and I love how it turned out!
Remember this one? |
I began this one by staining the legs and bottom a dark brown.
Just brush on the stain and wipe off after 15 minutes. |
I chose leather for the covered top. The leather is from my boyfriend's old leather sofa. When we got rid of the old sofa I first stripped all of the usable leather from it. I chose a piece that wasn't too worn out and without any seams going through it.
I padded the stool with a bit of polyfill and stapled the leather to the bottom edge of the stool. |
This is the turtleneck from a wool sweater. |
I thought this needed some trim to cover the staples on the bottom. I thought that red wool would be festive and masculine enough for a little boy's stool. And, the cloth was available ;-)
The wool was hotglued into place. |
Looks cushy, doesn't it? |
