Here is something that I have been meaning to do for a while. Mini succulent gardens! I love succulents because they are sooooo forgiving. I have never actually killed one so that means something.....

Mini garden in a vase. |
If you want to do this too you won't need much. I had these glass vases, probably purchased from a thrift store, some garden rocks (mine were another thrift store purchase) and some small succulent plants. If you already have succulents at home, you can break off a leaf or small branch and set it into the dirt, these do root and make new plants. You will also need a little bit of soil.
|
I actually found the succulent plants at a garage sale last month. Since then my neighbor gave me a bunch that she pulled from her yard. Now I have my own supply! |
Begin layering some of the rocks at the bottom of the vase or jar.
|
Maybe an inch and a half or two inches are all you will need. |
Layer in some soil, place the plant inside and add a bit more soil to cover the roots. Water well.
|
This mini garden took about 5 minutes to make. |
Display them wherever they will get some sun and love.
|
Display the succulent garden in a sunny window. |
The rocks in the bottom will allow the water to drain out of the soil and will be soaked back up as needed. Just water well when the rocks become dry. And enjoy your mini succulent garden.

Soo adorable! I love this! I'm notorious for forgetting to water my plants, but I love greenery - this sounds perfect!
